The Freedom to Write

Following last year’s creative writing project led by Mrs Pakeman, Teacher of English, in collaboration with Paper Nations and the Bath Festivals Trust, students today were given their own personal writing journal in which to record thoughts, events or creative writing ideas. Students are encouraged to record or write about anything that interests them with the objective of developing confidence, creativity, organisation skills as well as improving vocabulary and writing ability. St Mark’s is very grateful to Paper Nations and Bath Festivals Trust for organising and funding these notebooks. Thanks also to Nicky Thornton, prize wining author, who not only visited St Marks today to give an inspiring writing workshop but also signed 10 copies of her prize-winning book – available for sale at £6.99 each from Mrs Pakeman – First Come First Served!
