Year 5 Pupil Masterclasses at St Mark’s

Over the past few weeks, we have been working closely with

Batheaston Primary, St Saviour’s Juniors, St Stephen’s Primary, Wick Primary and Swainswick Primary to deliver a series of unique Red Letter Masterclasses to Year 5 pupils, bringing together a dynamic mix of subjects and activities to stretch and challenge their learning.

The Masterclasses have embraced the themes of:
• Science and Sport – looking into the effects of sport and exercise on the mind and body and looking at how heart rates can change when put under pressure;
• Language and Cooking – a linguistic masterclass in French followed by a taste discovery of European foods preparing a cultural dish and
• Geography and Art – embracing the world around us through the medium of art

Our Year 7 Student Ambassadors have been assisting throughout the events, supporting and encouraging pupils to challenge themselves and learn new skills. We hope that the sessions have provided a wealth of experience and knowledge, whilst giving a flavour of our school.

Throughout their Masterclasses, pupils have been collecting stamps in their St Mark’s Passport. If they bring their completed Passport to the Summer BBQ, pupils could be in with a chance of winning £20 in National Book Tokens in our prize draw.
