Transition from Year 6 to Secondary School
We are delighted to welcome all our new parents and students in joining St Mark’s School community. On this page, we will share news and updates on all the activities and communications planned to ensure a smooth transition for your child from Year 6 into Secondary School.
Introduction to the School for Year 6 students joining in September 2020
Please watch this short video introducing you to our school site and to some of the staff team from St Mark’s School who will help you in your transition to secondary education.
We have sent out our Year 7 Induction Packs for all students with a confirmed place at St Mark’s School in September 2020.
All documents can be printed or downloaded for completion and return to us at St Mark’s School, Baytree Road, Larkhall, BA1 6ND.
If you have any questions regarding any of the forms, please contact Mrs Chambers, our Admin Officer on 01225 312661 who will be happy to help.
Due to the current restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 situation, we will be holding a live Induction Evening for Parents and students to take place via Zoom on Thursday 2nd July 2020 at 7pm. All parents/carers will be sent details on how to join the meeting and take part.
Our headteacher Mr Ash will present alongside members of the Senior Leadership Team and our Progress Leader for Years 7 and 8, Miss Lucy Bartlett. They will present all of the information usually covered in our Induction Evening held in early July for new parents at the school. The presentation will later be shared on the website.
First day of Term
At this point we are unable to share specific details of the start of Term 1 due to not knowing the government’s guidance for schools for September 2020. However, please note that it is our intention to have Year 7 only in on the first day of the academic year: Thursday 3rd September 2020.
Please see In-Year Admissions for further details regarding places at St Mark’s School from September 2020.
Admission into Year 7 in September 2021
