St Mark’s celebrate best-ever GCSE results!

Students at St Mark’s, Bath, are celebrating today having received their GCSE results after years of hard work and studying. The school is delighted that achievements in public examinations across the curriculum continue to demonstrate the schools commitment to academic excellence and sustained improvement in standards.

72% of all students gained a good pass grade in both maths and English, with almost 66% securing 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C (or equivalent for English and maths). Impressively, nearly a quarter of grades in English and maths were at grades 7-9 (equivalent to the old A*-A grade).

In addition to this, 38% of all students gained at least one top grade of A*-A or 7-9, placing our students’ results as amongst the best achieved locally.

Students’ success in subjects across the breadth of the curriculum also highlight further impressive results with 100% of language students securing an A*-C grade, with 55% at the highly coveted A*-A.

Among the many success stories, notable achievements included:

Freddie Eloise J who secured 13 GCSEs with 12 GCSEs at the highest possible grades of A*-A or 7-9 and 1 GCSE at grade B

Bryan C who gained 13 GCSEs with 12 GCSEs at the highest possible grades of A*-A or 7-9 and 1 GCSE at grade B

Dylan K who secured 13 GCSEs at the highest possible grades of A*-B or 7-9 with an exceptional performance across the curriculum, achieving 7 GCSEs at A*-A and 9s in both English Literature and Language

The results come at the end of a very positive academic year for the school, following an impressive set of A level results at the New Sixth last week.

  • Further improve the educational experience of young people;
  • Share and receive expertise and skills from other educational establishments including universities and further education providers;
